I bought this drill in april 2010 to replace a similar model I had for over 8yrs that disappeared on a job site. I was a huge Makita fan having owned more than 20 of their tools going back to the late 80s. They were made in America and lasted. Both keys to my love affair with Makita tools. I needed new 18v batteries to run my other 18v makita tools since they disappeared with my drill. I came to the conclusion it would behoove me to buy the drill and get the batteries as a combo since I would be lacking a battery hammer drill to drill tapcons which had been very handy. My other drill had fallen from ladders, and literally been worked hard ! This drill has barely been worked at all and still looks brand new.
